A Thanksgiving Reflection: Gratitude, Faith, and God’s Loving Presence
Share
In a couple of days, it will be Thanksgiving Day—and it’s incredible how fast this year has flown by. This is my favorite season because it gently draws us into a posture of Thanksgiving gratitude, reminding us to pause and recognize God’s goodness.
I’m grateful for the good moments and the not-so-good ones, because each experience—joyful or challenging—carried its own lesson. Gratitude isn’t always easy, but it’s always transformative.
This year, Thanksgiving will look a little different for my family. Some of us are spending the holiday with loved ones far away, some are no longer with us, and some are choosing a quieter space. But even in the distance, the grief, or the solitude, God’s presence remains steady. Knowing that my family is in the Lord’s hands gives me peace. Prayer is what carries us through.
I try to live in a constant state of gratitude, but I’m also aware that many people are struggling this holiday season. And it’s in those moments that I wish I could whisper to every hurting heart: He sees you and loves you.
There is nothing I can do to improve anyone’s circumstance, but I can encourage you to look to God so that you can be encouraged and rest in His Loving Wings.
