September Reflections: Competing Only With Myself
Share
September is here, and honestly—I’ve been analyzing, questioning, even doubting. Sometimes I ask myself, “Am I wasting my time in a business that’s already oversaturated?”
The truth? I have a love-hate relationship with this entrepreneur journey. I love everything about creating—the scents, the storytelling, the way it all comes together. But when sales don’t come as quickly as I’d like, frustration creeps in.
Comadres, this journey is not easy. It is lonely. And because it’s a product-based business, it’s definitely not a get-rich-quick scheme. So the questions rise up: What is the end goal? Where am I really heading? How long until I get there?
I know I’m not alone in these thoughts. Maybe you’ve been asking yourself the same questions, too.
But here’s what I remind myself: the only person I’m competing against is me—yesterday’s version of me. Not anyone else.
It’s okay to feel tired. It’s okay to second-guess yourself. It’s even okay to wonder if you heard right. Pero también—it’s equally important to nurture yourself, to give yourself grace, and to remember that building an empire doesn’t happen overnight.
Think of the people you’re meeting along the way, the connections, the lessons, the growth. All of it matters. All of it is worth it.
So I close with this reminder, for me and for you:
“Let us not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” – Galatians 6:9
No te rindas, Comadre. Keep going—you’re closer than you think.
